Abstrak

Breastfeeding plays an important role in supporting the growth, health, and survival of babies because breast milk is rich in nutrients and antibodies. For mothers, breastfeeding can reduce mortality because the process stimulates uterine contractions, which helps reduce postpartum bleeding. This community service activity aims to increase breastfeeding mothers' knowledge about oxytocin massage and to find out the differences in patients' knowledge levels before and after being given education. The activity methods included counseling through lectures, discussions, and leaflets distribution. The activity was conducted at Simarpinggan Health Center, South Angkola District, with a total of 30 patient participants. Evaluation results showed an increase in participants' knowledge from a pre-test score of 52% to 90% in the post-test, resulting in a 32% increase. The education went well, and participants showed high enthusiasm in following the activity. This activity can be one of the efforts to increase breastfeeding mothers' understanding of the benefits of oxytocin massage to support the success of mothers in breastfeeding.
