Abstract

ABSTRACT

Breastfeeding should be done immediately after the baby is born or what is now known as Early Breastfeeding Immunization (IMD). It is a condition when the baby starts breastfeeding on its own after the baby is born, namely when the baby has the ability to breastfeed on its own, with the criteria of immediate skin contact with the baby within the first 60 minutes after the baby is born. There are many ways to position yourself and your baby during the breastfeeding process. Some mothers choose to breastfeed in a lying position on their side while embracing their baby, some do it while sitting

The purpose of this study was to determine the mother's knowledge of the correct breastfeeding position in Silandit Village, Environment III, South Padangsidimpuan District in 2025.

This type of research is descriptive, namely by using a sample in the study, namely a population of 30 people and a sample taken of 20 people.

From the results of the research conducted, the knowledge of mothers about the correct breastfeeding position, the majority of whom have less knowledge, 12 people (60%) and those who have good knowledge, 3 people (15%) and those who have sufficient knowledge, 5 people (25%).

The conclusion from the results that have been carried out by researchers, researchers can conclude that there are still many mothers who do not know how to properly breastfeed.

Suggestions For researchers, it is hoped that this can increase insight and knowledge for further researchers For the research location; it is hoped that the community of Arse, Environment III, especially mothers who do not yet know about the correct breastfeeding position for mothers and their babies. For respondents Increase insight and knowledge and information about the benefits of the correct breastfeeding position for both mothers and babies For educational institutions; it is hoped that educational institutions in particular will increase the number of reading books about the correct breastfeeding position.
