Mining activities generate dust and chemical substances that have the potential to pollute the environment and adversely affect the health of surrounding communities, particularly vulnerable groups such as pregnant women. Such exposure is suspected to influence hemoglobin levels and increase the risk of anemia during pregnancy. This study aims to analyze the relationship between exposure to mining dust and chemical substances and the incidence of anemia among pregnant women. This study employed an observational analytic design with a cross-sectional approach. The study population consisted of pregnant women living in areas surrounding mining sites. Samples were selected using purposive sampling techniques. Data on dust and chemical exposure were collected through questionnaires and environmental observations, while anemia data were obtained from hemoglobin level examinations. Data analysis was conducted using statistical tests to determine the relationship between variables. The results showed that most pregnant women exposed to mining dust and chemical substances experienced anemia. The proportion of anemia was higher among exposed pregnant women compared to those who were not exposed. Statistical analysis indicated a significant relationship between mining dust exposure and the incidence of anemia. Exposure to mining chemical substances was also significantly associated with anemia among pregnant women. Higher levels of exposure were associated with an increased risk of anemia. It can be concluded that exposure to mining dust and chemical substances is associated with the incidence of anemia among pregnant women.
