Abstract
Abstract
Work in the mining sector has a high risk of occupational accidents due to the use of heavy equipment, complex working conditions, and exposure to various potential hazards. Occupational accidents among mine workers are generally influenced by a combination of human factors, equipment-related factors, and unsafe working environments. This study aims to analyze the factors causing occupational accidents in mining work. The research materials consist of primary and secondary data related to occupational accident incidents and the implementation of occupational safety and health in the mining environment. The research method uses a descriptive approach with data collection through field observations, questionnaires, and interviews with mine workers and field supervisors. Supporting data were obtained through documentation studies of accident reports and standard operating procedures. Data analysis was conducted using qualitative and simple quantitative methods to identify the dominant factors causing occupational accidents. The results show that human factors, such as non-compliance with safety procedures and improper use of personal protective equipment, are the main causes of occupational accidents. In addition, equipment that does not meet safety standards and hazardous working environment conditions also contribute to the occurrence of accidents. The lack of continuous supervision and occupational safety training further increases the risk of occupational accidents in the mining environment. This study concludes that occupational accidents in mining work are influenced by various interrelated factors, highlighting the need for comprehensive risk control through optimal implementation of occupational safety and health.
