English has become an essential competence for Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) professionals, as the mining work environment requires the ability to understand safety documents, international standards, work procedures, and professional communication with multinational workforces. This study aims to analyze the English language needs of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) students in the context of the mining industry. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach, needs analysis as the method. The research participants consisted of OSH students. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, and document analysis, and were analyzed thematically. The results indicate that the English language needs of OSH students primarily focus on reading and speaking skills within occupational safety contexts, such as understanding international OSH standards, safety signs and symbols, incident reports, as well as oral communication during safety briefings and field inspections. Furthermore, English learning materials that are relevant to mining and OSH contexts are considered more effective than general English instruction. These findings are expected to serve as a foundation for the development of an English curriculum and teaching materials based on the specific needs of OSH students and aligned with the demands of the mining industry.
