The mining sector is a work environment with a high risk of occupational accidents due to the use of heavy equipment, complex working conditions, and exposure to physical and environmental hazards. The implementation of occupational safety and health (OSH) is a crucial aspect in preventing workplace accidents and protecting mine workers. This study aims to analyze the role of OSH implementation in preventing occupational accidents in the mining sector. The research materials consist of primary and secondary data related to the implementation of OSH in the mining environment. A descriptive approach was employed, with data collected through observation, questionnaires, and documentation studies related to occupational accidents. Data analysis was conducted qualitatively to describe the relationship between OSH implementation and the level of occupational accidents. The results indicate that effective OSH implementation, including the use of personal protective equipment, safety training, and compliance with standard operating procedures, plays an important role in reducing the risk of occupational accidents. In addition, increased awareness and discipline of workers regarding OSH support the creation of a safer working environment. This study concludes that optimal OSH implementation contributes significantly to the prevention of occupational accidents in the mining environment.
