PENGETAHUAN PETUGAS TENTANG STANDARD PRECAUTION DI PUSKESMAS SIMARPINGGAN
Abstract
Implementation of standard precautions is expected to reduce the risk of pathogen transmission through blood and other body fluids from known and unknown sources. This implementation is an infection prevention and control that must be routinely implemented for all patients and all healthcare facilities (Lubis et al., 2021). According to the Indonesian Ministry of Health, in 2020, healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) affected approximately 1 in 10 people worldwide, according to research. For every 100 patients, there were 7 cases of HAIs in wealthy countries, compared with 15 cases in underdeveloped countries. HAIs in the ICU affected 30% of patients in wealthy countries, but can affect 2-3 times more patients in poor countries. According to data, 4-6% of newborn deaths were caused by HAIs (Amaliah et al., 2024). This type of research is quantitative with a descriptive design, namely to determine the description of officers' knowledge about standard precautions at the Simarpinggan Health Center which was carried out on June 12-19, 2025. The population in this study were all employees who worked at the Simarpinggan Health Center, namely 94 people using the "total sampling" technique. The results of this study showed that the majority of respondents' knowledge about Standard Precautions at the Simarpinggan Health Center was good.
